I am the Emotional Support at Shippensburg Area Middle School this year!!! I have taught 8 years as an Emotional Support Teacher at Shippensburg Area Senior High School. I moved here from Unionville, PA (near the State College area). I am a 1999 graduate of Lock Haven University with a BS Degree in Education and also obtained a Master’s of Education Degree (with a concentration in Behavior Disorders) from Shippensburg University in 2006.
My first year of teaching was spent at Cornell Abraxas Youth Center. I was a Life Skills Teacher and taught students who were adjudicated.
My goal for my students and my classroom is for all of my students to develop mutual respect and take responsibility for their own actions and behavior.
I love laughing and having fun in the classroom.
I believe in students and I believe that everyone is capable of becoming the best person they can be despite their circumstances in life. Our behavior is a choice- you can overcome anything that you want and can turn your life around in a positive direction.
I believe in consistency and also believe that education opens the door to many opportunities.
